Lindeth Howe Classic Country House

We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We were there with friends for a 70th birthday celebration and reunion, and the welcome was excellent and friendly. The hotel and staff gave guests a warm feeling, and both the rooms and food were to an exceptional standard.

The food was very good, both dinner and breakfast, and the cooking was brilliant. Our room on the 2nd floor had windows on two sides, with stunning views of Lake Windermere. It was spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped. The hotel was refurbished in 2019, but it looked so well kept you'd think it had been done more recently. The decor and furnishings are superb. We came with friends for an overnight getaway, and I was blown away by the place. The reception staff were uber friendly and explained everything when we arrived. There's nothing to dislike, and it's only minutes from Bowness. Excellent.

We were lucky with the weather and loved sitting outside with a coffee in the sunshine. The gardens are gorgeous, and the main downstairs rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. Our room was spacious and comfortable during our wonderful three-night stay. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Jack on the bar deserves a mention too. We had a drink there each night, often after going out and near the end of his shift. He was such a friendly, accommodating person to be served by. We'll definitely come back to this gem of a hotel.

The views were superb, and we really enjoyed our break. Breakfast was lovely too. From the time we arrived until we left, the staff couldn't do enough for us. They helped with our cases and offered to help take them out, though I'd already put mine in the car. We're planning to come back here next year.
