The event went smoothly in large part thanks to Mr. Dobrin. I was running a promotion in one of the meeting rooms, and he made a point of welcoming each customer warmly as they arrived. Several people later told me how polite and gentlemanly he’d been. He even offered cookies for the children, a thoughtful touch the families appreciated. Mr. Dobrin, the Reception Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Woking, was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout. His positive approach made a real difference to the conference. Thank you for representing the hotel so well.

The station’s only about a five-minute walk away, with a direct train to London, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was nice too, and everyone working there was really friendly. I liked the cookie they offer as a little extra. Our room was pleasant, though the shower was a bit off. The bed felt hard, but I could sleep on it and it was fine. I’d recommend staying here.

UPDATE: The reply from the ‘director of operations’ gives lies, excuses, and reasons. To be clear, NOT ALL ROOMS HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. It’s a lie to say they all do, or that it wasn’t available because it was a cooler month. After our second night sweating in the sweltering room, my husband spoke to someone who kindly moved us to a seventh-floor room. That room had air conditioning we could control and enough lighting to see at any time of day. The rooms on the seventh floor are the ‘Deluxe’ rooms. You’d have to pay double, or even two and a half times as much, to get one. If you’re booking a standard room, do yourself a favour and choose the travel lodge or Premier inn instead, unless you’re prepared to sweat. It’s shameful that Doubletree Woking advertises amenities the rooms don’t have, and that getting basic air conditioning and lighting means paying so much extra. The hotel put two fans in our hot room, but motors running in a hot room only make it hotter. They were meant to cool it down, but pushing hot air around at full blast made that impossible. In the room we were moved to, the cups and spoons left in the cupboards for us to use weren’t clean. See picture. Honestly, I’m so disappointed. This hotel gives the Doubletree brand a really terrible name. Original Post: The hotel website and hotels.com advertise air conditioning, but this hotel does NOT have it. The rooms were hotter than I imagine hell would be, with only a tiny gap in the window to “get fresh air in”, as the concierge note at check-in put it. We had to call for fans because they refused to turn the A/C on. There’s barely enough light in the rooms either, just a desk light and two bedside lights. If you need to work, day or evening, I suggest using the lobby instead. The air conditioning there seems to work, and it has plenty of light. Honestly, the travel lodge and premier inn are light years better than this double tree.

Everything was clean, modern, and nicely presented. The staff were very polite and helpful, and breakfast was a buffet with all the usual choices. It’s well suited to a short break or business trip, and I’d definitely come back.

The one lift working while I was there made things really inconvenient at busy times. Otherwise, the hotel was well maintained, and the staff were friendly. Rooms are on the small side, with little closets that suit solo travellers. Breakfast was decent, with a good range of food and very helpful staff. You can ask the kitchen to make eggs, and the coffee machine was better than average. It’s a business hotel that seems suited to aircrew or people staying as needed, with a small mall nearby and the everyday necessities in Woking’s residential hub.
