Travelodge Woking Central

The room and staff were perfect, and the location was no issue. But both nights, while we were there, the same car sat in the same parking spot outside our room with its engine running and VERY loud music playing for three hours. We could hear it over the TV with the windows shut. I’ve no idea why, though it was gone by 10pm each night. Maybe it’s a local pick-up point, if you know what I mean. It put a VERY BIG shadow over what had been a perfect stay.

Reception staff were great, and having parking at the hotel was really handy. It was quiet at night even though the hotel is right in the city centre. We had a great two-night stay, found it pleasant, and would recommend it. We’ll definitely come back.

The breakfast was very good, as expected, and the location just outside Woking station is excellent. My room was clean, with a very good shower room and USB-A ports by the bed. I’ve stayed at a few Travelodge hotels over the past year or two, and this room was better than most. I guess it’s had a recent refurbishment. Thanks to all the behind-the-scenes people in cleaning, catering and elsewhere who make this level of service possible. And a big shout-out to Supervisor Manika and Pritam at the desk for their excellent service, especially for retrieving the small coffee flask I accidentally left in the room.

We booked four rooms for two days. The rooms and toilets smelled, air came in through the windows even when they were closed, the lift wasn't working, and there was dust everywhere. Even with the make-up-my-room tag outside, all we got was towels and nothing else was touched. I complained about all of it and was offered free breakfast next time, but I'm not coming back to Travelodge. The parking also cost £6 for 24 hours. Not happy at all. Spend a little extra and stay in a good hotel.
