At the end of Lucy's five-day upholstery course, I'd finished my chair, picked up a whole new skill and made lovely new friends. The days flew by as our small group of five learned, asked questions, got advice and encouraged one another. Lucy is patient, knowledgeable and supportive. She explained techniques clearly, shared lots of tips, and stepped in to help at just the right time without taking over. We could borrow a box of tools, and there was a good supply of upholstery materials if needed. Each morning Lucy set realistic goals for us, which kept me focused and motivated. The workshop was warm and welcoming with its wood-burning stove, and the delicious cake, hot drinks and lovely lunches gave us a chance to talk about how we were getting on. I stayed at Huntlands B&B while taking the course, and it made for a wonderful few days away in a beautiful part of the country. I couldn't recommend the experience more.

We stayed at Huntslands while doing a week-long upholstery course, and everything was excellent. The rooms were great, the bed amazingly comfortable, and the surrounding countryside beautiful. The food and wine were especially delicious. Above all, Lucy, Steve, Lynne and Anais made us feel completely at home and relaxed. Highly recommend.

This was my third upholstery course with Lucy, and it feels like a mini retreat where you leave with something to show for it. The farm and B&B are peaceful and beautiful, full of character and history, with lots of lovely animals close enough to touch. Lucy is an excellent teacher and makes it easy to work successfully at your own pace.

I feel better for having met Lucy and Stephen. They're warm and have made this beautiful farm a wonderful place to stay. The food is superb, and Stephen is a great cook. It's a magical visit to a gorgeous farm in the English countryside. I'll miss the sheep and Walter the donkey, and I'll definitely come back.

We've come back feeling calm and ready for a busy week. The peaceful setting and lovely hosts helped, as did the wonderfully comfortable bed and beautifully furnished rooms. There's also a guest lounge with books and games, and breakfast is perfect, home-cooked, with plenty of options and homemade preserves. I already miss Walter the donkey, Gordon the Shetland pony and the various random chickens. Really, it can't be bettered.
