We had a luncheon for my Dad's 80th birthday at The Pen Mill hotel on Saturday, with 16 people there. The communication beforehand was superb, and we went in advance to look at the area we'd be using. The staff were incredibly helpful. On the day everything ran smoothly, with no errors or problems. All the food was spot on and cooked to perfection. The staff have an amazing system in place. Can't fault them at all. Thanks to everyone, especially Tom, Lucy and the other great staff. Highly recommend it, the food was lush.

I'd been here before and enjoyed some good meals, but this lunchtime meet-up with friends was disappointing. Nearly every snack on the menu had some kind of cheese in it. There was more choice without cheese on the lunch menu, but I didn't want a big meal. And an extra £1 for a GF roll seems a bit much.

It was fairly busy, but the waitresses were lovely, helpful, and attentive, and our meals came promptly. There's a big range of dishes, including lots of homemade specials. My husband had a perfectly cooked rib eye steak, and two of us picked from the two-course specials menu, which was great value. We had a lovely birthday lunch for him today, and it felt welcoming and relaxed from the moment we arrived. Looking forward to coming back, it's my new favourite place to eat!

We tried the carvery for the first time. The food was good, with lots of vegetables to choose from, and the staff were very friendly. The only issue was how close the queue got to our table, which was near the carvery, and how noisy it was. They should keep an eye on that so diners can eat in peace.

Tina and Charlene looked after us for afternoon tea and were so friendly. The food was delicious, and we loved the place too. There are several rooms, cozy lit chimineas, live music, and spectacular decor with artwork and taxidermy heads on the walls. An amazing place!
