The pies are a must, with plenty of delicious ones to choose from on the menu. My pie and chips were the best ever, and the prices were great. I stayed two nights and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which makes all the difference when you're travelling solo. The food was absolutely amazing. I'd definitely stay again.

The room was really pretty, but absolutely freezing. I went to bed in a jumper, leggings and socks, and the bathroom was so cold it took my breath away. The pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so there was no food option then and no way to heat any food. I can't comment on the service or pies.

The village setting was peaceful, with nature nearby, and it made a good base for exploring Somerset. The restaurant and bar were pleasant places to get a drink or a meal and meet locals and other travellers. Peter & Janine were warm hosts, and the staff, including Kira, Barbara & Megan, helped make the place welcoming too. I didn't catch the other staff members' names. We stayed for eighteen nights and were thoroughly spoiled by Janine's cooking. The classic pub favourites were all made from scratch with care. Our room was private and comfortable, with a nice bed and ensuite. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt cosy and welcoming, and that never changed. Take my word for it, it's a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended, and I'd definitely come back.

The room had everything we needed, without any luxury extras, which suited us just fine. Why pay for things you don't want? We enjoyed eight nights at the Walnut Tree, where the manager and staff were helpful and friendly. The pub food was cooked to order, and the beef pie was miles better than the one at Gloucester services. We'd definitely stay again.

A family and dog friendly country pub with rooms that are bigger than the place looks from outside. There's a nice little choice of drinks, tasty food in generous portions, and the rooms and beds were really comfortable. Lovely little family run inn, highly recommend.
