Diamonds Inn

We were able to drop our bags before check-in after I emailed ahead, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The location's great, with the centre and Minister a short walk away and bars and places to eat just steps from the hotel. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. There were lots of nice extras too, including toiletries, tissues, unlimited tea and coffee, bottled water and even Netflix. It's a lovely hotel for the price, and we'll definitely stay again. There's a no-alcohol policy, though that didn't cause us any problem.

The location was the main reason we booked, and it was great being so close to the city for our family's one-night stay. Our basic room worked well for five of us. The main downside was having to climb five flights of stairs to reach it. Parking was good value if you're lucky enough to get a space. We weren't, so we had to unload the whole car and carry everything from the boot all the way up to the guest house, without help.

The room was cosy, clean, comfortable and well looked after, and I had a really pleasant two-night stay. I was worried I might arrive too late for check-in, but Priya explained all the details by phone and was very helpful. Everything went smoothly.

Room 5 was clean, but very small. The listing said it had a private shower room and WC. The issue was that this bathroom was downstairs in the corridor and shared by every hotel guest. The website didn't make that arrangement clear enough, which was a problem.
