The Churchill

Henry was especially helpful, always welcoming me with a smile and pitching in whenever I needed something. The whole team was friendly and professional, and it felt like they really cared about their guests. My room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the hotel had a relaxed, welcoming feel. I had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. I'd recommend it to others.

We had 14 rooms for our work Christmas party at The Churchill Hotel, and the staff made the stay. They were friendly and helpful the whole time. The hotel itself is beautiful, and every room had its own character. Everything was spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, made with local produce and served piping hot. We were also just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. We'd happily recommend it and will definitely return. Thank you!

‼️AVOID AT ALL COST. I've rarely been so stunned by a place. What they served was so odd and unrecognizable that we sent it back untouched, partly because we were worried about our safety and partly for the sake of our taste buds. Then they tried to charge us full price, as though we'd eaten some gourmet masterpiece instead of a plate we couldn't face. Apparently the bill was for the “emotional journey.” Absolutely breathtaking, in the worst way. The duty manager looked about 16 and, clearly, had a lot of life experience to gain. He was NOT fit for purpose. Blatantly ripping off customers doesn't sit well, and the child acting as a manager needs further training !!!!!

The hotel is in a brilliant spot, around a 5-10 minute walk to The Shambles and nearby places. Breakfast was cooked to order, piping hot and delicious, and the staff were friendly and informative. Our small double was small, but we didn't spend much time in it, so it was fine. It was lovely and clean, with a fab shower. Can't recommend The Churchill enough. We can't wait to return.
