The host was welcoming and attentive at every point in our stay. We also had breakfast and highly recommend it, a lovely way to end our trip in York. Everything at Farthings felt like home, from the lovely furniture to the cosy bed looking out at the rain. The place felt whimsical and nostalgic. Thanks so much, Farthings. We hope to stay again soon!

The shared bathrooms are the one drawback for many travellers. Given the building's age and layout, I can see there may be little that can realistically be done, but it remains an issue, potentially more so for female guests. Otherwise, this quaint guesthouse is very highly recommended. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable, and breakfast is exceptional, with lovely hosting too.

The hotel is just a short walk from the city walls, with a few bars and restaurants only minutes away. The room was really nice and the staff very friendly. I just had to let the property know ahead of time that I was arriving by car.

We had a lovely, comfy twin room and the staff were so friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. Nice location, and a great little breakfast in the morning.
