Red Roof Inn Aberdeen

We stopped here on the way to Florida and didn’t check in until 11 p.m. Our newly renovated king room was clean and had a 3-foot refrigerator with a freezer, plus a microwave. The hotel was clean and the walkways were well lit. The location is fantastic, within a large mall with lots of restaurants, other hotels, and stores. Ripkin stadium is at the same exit off I-95.

After being stranded in the snow for 24 hours, I finally got to the hotel by tow and they let me check in really early. I hadn’t had a hot meal or shower in over a day, so I can’t thank this location enough for the hospitality. The room was clean, already warm, and just right.

The person checking me in was very friendly, and room 102 was really clean, including the bathroom, fridge, and microwave. I got a nice hot shower and slept comfortably. I didn’t see any bugs or roaches, despite reading about them in some other reviews. Parking is right outside the room, which makes access quick, and there are cameras around the building. I’d stay again if I’m in the area and recommend it for a good night’s sleep, a good price, and easy access to the highway.

We stayed here around Thanksgiving and had a nice time, but our visit over Christmas was very different. A sign says guests staying more than two nights must allow housekeeping to service the room or check out. Nobody ever came by to clean ours. We chose to check out the night before our scheduled departure and had paid a cash deposit. They asked us to wait for a cleaner to inspect the room before returning the money. After the front desk person called a woman to check on the room, the owner arrived and showed us photos on his phone, claiming we had damaged things and saying that next time we’d get only half our deposit back. Later we realized the owner hadn’t inspected our room, and the pictures didn’t match the room we’d just left. They said guests were expected to photograph the room at check-in, which seems like something for apartments, not hotels. We believe the owner had repaired another room and assumed it was ours, even though a woman had done the inspection. We won’t be back.
