We checked in and immediately checked back out. I wish we’d read the reviews more carefully. There was rust, mildew, dust, grime, peeling paint, and torn fabric. It was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever seen. With an infant, we couldn’t risk that kind of exposure. Even the cheap price didn’t make it worthwhile.

I had a great night here in 2018, and back in 2012 it had a great bar and lounge and a breakfast buffet. I’d give it five stars today if I could, but an F1 tornado hit it directly on Easter Sunday morning last year, badly damaging the metal roof. The motel is still dealing with the aftermath of Ada’s Easter Sunday tornado. It hasn’t been repaired or renovated yet, so it hasn’t reopened.

We were exhausted after driving nine hours one way, so we went to sleep and packed up as quickly as we could in the morning. The room smelled strongly of mold and water damage. The photos we booked from must have been taken when the hotel was built, because they didn’t match the old, run-down, stinky place we found. There was dust piled on top of the lamps, mold in the shower caulking, sticky carpet, and a dead spider stuck to the ceiling. Some outlets didn’t work, and the hair dryer had apparently caught fire at some point and was never replaced. We were too concerned about the room to try the complimentary breakfast. We could have asked for another room, but given the condition of the place, I doubted it would be better. I really don’t recommend this unless you like breathing in mold smells. I know not to expect five-star quality from a two-star hotel, but I do expect it to be clean.

The room was a bit outdated, which I expected, and I used to manage a hotel for over a year, so I know price sets expectations. Still, the area felt safe, and nobody was out in the parking lot when we arrived at 2am. The staff were friendly and attentive. With the location and free breakfast, you can’t beat it for the price. Who doesn’t like FREE breakfast?

When we had to leave Sunday, the property I’d left under the sink was completely covered in white mold. My granddaughter and I got sick with bad headaches. I told the housekeeper, who said she’d been telling them about it forever and they never do anything beyond putting a dryer in there. There were blown light bulbs, and I had to go buy a fan because the room was hot and stuffy. We arrived late Friday for a rodeo event and found the property ruined by water. I reported it to the desk, and she offered to move us, but it was 11pm Saturday by the time I got back to the room, and it was raining.
