The breakfast was nice, and the location was good for getting downtown. The rooms are standard. But do not use or drink the hot water. I was told by staff it was part of Albany's public water supply and nothing could be done, and that if I wanted clean drinking water I could use fountains on the 2nd and 4th floors. I ran the tub for about 15-20 minutes and yellowish liquid kept coming out. Cold water, which seemed to come straight from the public mains, looked clear and had no smell. The rust seemed to be only in water passing through the heater, though I'm just hoping that's what it was. I'd already brushed my teeth, showered, and drunk the water. If it wasn't rust, I don't want to know. Update: About four hours after I reported it, a staff member said there had been emergency boiler room repairs and that the water should clear shortly. I had to run it for at least an hour, but it did finally clear. Update two, the next morning the brown water was back, worse than before. I added another photo to show how bad it was. Emergencies happen, but by then I felt I was being intentionally lied to. In short, a great hotel if you like cold showers, no drinkable water, or have a minor iron deficiency.

The hotel is in good shape, our room was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was free and decent, the gym was better than most at this price, and parking in the lot was easy to find. The neighborhood is the downside. The building next door is abandoned, and the area doesn't feel very safe. Still, the location works well for the Hudson Marathon: the shuttle is walkable, and the finish is just down the road.

We picked this place because it's close to MVP Arena, and it was a positive stay. Parking was good, the staff were pleasant, and we got what we expected: two beds, a TV, and a mini fridge. Downtown Albany is within walking distance. I'd definitely stay here again when I'm in town for MVP Arena.
