We had booked two nights, Friday and Saturday. When we checked in around 6:45 Friday evening, one room had dirty bedding that needed changing. There was gum and dirt, and what looked like urine on the sheet underneath. At check-in, I mentioned my service dog and was told she didn't need her vest and could walk around. The next day, around 3:15, a different front desk employee confronted my wife as we were heading to the pool. She demanded papers and registration to prove the dog was a service animal. I tried to explain that she could legally ask two questions, but she said she didn't care what she was allowed to ask and wanted to know. She clearly didn't understand the rules. I tried to explain what was wrong and that she needed to learn the law, but then she started talking to another customer and told me we were done and I should walk away. Management needs to make sure staff understand service dogs and what they're allowed to ask.

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable beds and fresh-smelling rooms, especially for what we paid for a hotel right off the freeway. There's a grocery store and several chain restaurants within walking distance. The pool is huge, so even with other people in it there's room to spread out. We travel four to six months of the year, and this was our first stay at an AmericInn. We'd consider the chain again.

The breakfast was okay, and the man at checkout was much nicer than the woman who checked us in. We arrived around 8:30 at night, exhausted and sick of driving, and had booked earlier that day because we wanted to sleep early. The receptionist seemed more interested in watching something at her desk than helping. She said hi, took our ID and card, then pointed us to a clipboard without confirming the price. I was worried after seeing a review about bed bugs, but we didn't find any. We were quoted $129 by phone, and it's our fault for assuming that included taxes and fees, but the final charge was $145. That's a lot for the small room we got, so double-check the fees. The sheet had a few small stains, and the chair had dozens. Check-in was 11/7/2025.

The manager was very rude when I finally spoke with her, so I won't book here again. I had to cancel because I came down with a stomach bug the day before my trip, after the cancellation window had passed. I called just a few hours after the 24-hour cutoff, still the day before travel, to ask if even a partial refund was possible. The staff told me I'd need to speak to a manager.
