Coast Inn and Spa Fort Bragg

Locally owned for a long time, with a quaint feel and friendly service. The rooms were deluxe, and the organic, eco-friendly atmosphere made for a really relaxing stay. It’s also well placed, just 5 minutes from the beach, restaurants, and other amenities.

We got in quickly, but the price was outrageous for what we found. At check-in, she called this her FAVORITE room. The bedding was stained, there was visible mold on the walls, and the fridge, stove, and microwave didn’t work. We’d already told her we planned to make food, and by then it was late, everything was closed, and the kids were hungry. The jacuzzi tub was the one plus, though we ran it for a while to check that nothing gross came out. In the morning, there was blood where the sliding glass door opens and closes, which was alarming. The room smelled so bad it made us all sick, so I went to the gas station for a candle or cleaning agents. We slept with every window open and car fresheners around the room. My face and throat swelled up. I’d never recommend this place or come back.

The hot tub was broken, and apparently had been for a while. The rooms smelled so bad I had to pick fragrant herbs and plants from the property just to make mine livable. There’s nothing healing about this place. Don’t stay here.

The owner was friendly and accommodating, but the rooms are very basic and need updating. We didn’t see a spa or jacuzzi available. There’s a lot of competition in town, so I’d consider coming back if the price better matched the property’s quality.
