Downtown Historic Bed and Breakfast

The Grant family made me feel so welcome, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to Albuquerque and this well-run B&B. I stayed four nights in the Rose Room at Heritage House, with its pretty gold and red decor and a separate sitting room. The bed was really comfortable, and I liked being able to set the temperature separately in my room. Each breakfast was generous and tasty, with fresh fruit, organic egg dishes, crisp bacon, and pancakes.

Steve made our wedding-night stay feel special. He was such a kind, cheerful host and sat with us over breakfast, where he brought us another helping of his homemade green chile quiche. The owners clearly care about the houses and how guests are treated, and we felt that. The three early twentieth-century homes are beautiful and each has its own character. Our room and the rest of the property were clean, orderly, and comfortable. We’d definitely consider the Downtown Historic B & B next time we’re in Albuquerque.

The Spy House theme even carried through to the little stickers on the toilet paper, which made us smile. We also liked the homemade lotions and creams, and took home some of Kara’s pancake mix and syrup to try. The house has a lot of history and character, but it was spotless, with big comfortable beds and really nice linens and towels. Breakfast was a delicious hot homemade meal, and Kara was so thoughtful about making sure we had a good stay. It’s an easy walk to nearby restaurants and about a 10-minute ride from the airport.

Even for just one night, the Gold Room was lovely and comfortable. We were squeezing in a very quick getaway, but the owners made us feel at home as they always do. We’ve stayed in almost every room here and have never been let down. Breakfast was yummy as usual, and the family that runs the Downtown Historic Bed & Breakfast of Albuquerque, NM is so accommodating and lovely. I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Albuquerque.
