Holiday Inn Express - Balloon Fiesta Park by IHG

Our family had stayed here before, and this time the renovated room was awesome. We accidentally left an Apple Watch behind, and the staff kept it safe until we came back through town. Tina Marie deserves a promotion, or at least a good raise. Her customer service is top notch, and she went above and beyond to make our stay the best. This is where you want to stay when traveling through Albuquerque.

The breakfast is free and has a good variety, but the rest of our stay didn’t justify the price. My husband and I booked months ahead because the hotel is near Balloon Fiesta Park for Boots in the Park. Check-in took ages, and the receptionist charged us extra for using a third-party site. The hotel is under renovation, with men plastering walls in the open lobby and hallway where guests walk by and breathe it in. Our room was too small and had a stain on the bed. There was no pool or gym, and that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the website, so I don’t think they should charge full price. Please avoid this place.

The room was quiet and clean, and the location was great. The hotel is being remodeled and updated. Tinamarie was wonderful and took time to point us toward nearby places to eat. We’ll stay here again.

We’ve stayed here before and had a great time. The breakfast is better than at many hotels, the staff are friendly, and the place is clean and well located. I wish I’d known when booking that the pool was under construction in 12/2025. My grandkids love the indoor pool when they stay with me, so we couldn’t use it this time. I didn’t ask, but nobody told me either. There are upgrades going on, and I hope new mattresses are part of them. These spring mattresses feel old, like ones hotels generally don’t use anymore. Still, it was a good stay, and I’d have no issue coming back to visit if they replace them.
