Holiday Inn Express & Suites Albuquerque Historic Old Town by IHG

We felt so comfortable in the very clean, nice room that we decided to check out late. There are plenty of places to eat within 10-20 minutes, and Starbucks is literally about 10 steps across the street. The gas station is over there too, so I could fill up before getting back on the road. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

There are other places to eat within walking distance, and the room itself was clean with a comfortable bed. The included breakfast was the problem. Nobody started refilling things until an hour and a half after breakfast began, and only one coffee machine worked. The other needed to have its grounds cleaned out, and I couldn’t find anyone to help. It’s a decent Holiday Inn otherwise.

The staff were very nice, and the bed was really comfortable, which matters to me. The hotel is okay, though the building looks like it’s seen better days. In our bathroom, tiles were cracked and coming loose from the floor, probably from water damage. The window also wouldn’t shut. With the interstate nearby, you hear traffic through the night, but the place was still okay.

The location near the aquarium and zoo is nice, but I wouldn’t stay here again. My wife, daughter, and I were eating breakfast after it opened late when my wife saw the woman working the breakfast area pick up eggs that had fallen on the counter with her bare hands and put them back into the scrambled eggs. She then stirred them in. When my wife pointed it out, I nearly threw up. I usually stick with IHG hotels when I travel partly because I like their breakfast, especially biscuits and gravy. Seeing that has put me off this place.
