The breakfast was always great, the beds and linens were nice, and staff were great too. My room was very clean and service was prompt. I noticed one dead bug when I first checked the room and worried it would be a bad stay, but I never saw another bug. Some people live at the hotel, including what seemed to be state employees, maybe because it's cheaper than an apartment. They seemed like regular working people. I was never bothered, my belongings were left alone, and I had no problems with the maids or front desk. I don't get the low reviews. I've stayed in much worse places, and this is a decent one.
Free parking was convenient, and the complimentary continental breakfast was fresh and satisfying. Inside, the minimalist layout still felt comfortable and relaxing. The room was spotless and seemed well maintained, with hard flooring that made it feel spacious and hygienic. It had two neatly made beds with crisp linens and supportive mattresses, reading lights, a shared nightstand, a wall TV visible from either bed, a desk and chair, full-length mirror, and luggage bench. The teal accents, warm wood, matte black frames, and bright white finishes gave it a modern boutique look. The bathroom had a spotless glass walk-in shower, chrome fixtures, mounted toiletries, chevron tile, and a linear drain. There was also a sleek vanity with a large illuminated mirror, bright lighting, quartz-style counter, and neatly set towels. A comfortable, efficient stay for travelers who value modern style and cleanliness, 10/10.
The clean sheets and the fact that nothing was stolen were about all I got for $230 a night. I've never reviewed a hotel before, but I've never been this disappointed. It looked nothing like the online photos, and the room was very dated. Parts of the carpet were threadbare, dust was sitting on the baseboards and nightstand, crumbs were on the fridge, and the shower drain didn't work properly. The TV hung at a strange angle, pointing toward the floor, and the pillows were lumpy, not flat. There was a shower chair for some reason. At least the room was quiet. I won't stay here again, and I'm disappointed by the misleading advertising.
Brianna went above and beyond to help with what we needed. She's the best customer service representative you have, so please give her a big 'Well done' from the Webb/Gilbert party. The night clerk did his job, but came across as stale: no smile and no effort to make conversation. I've worked in customer service, and he needs to be friendlier.
The highway noise made it impossible to rest well, with cars audible all night and especially early in the morning. The room was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly: grimy-looking doors, a filthy floor that turned my white socks black after a few minutes, and an unhygienic-feeling bathroom. Breakfast was decent, with the usual eggs, sausages, bread, yogurt, waffles, coffee, tea, juice, and hot chocolate. Nothing special, but okay. We stayed two nights at La Quinta in Albuquerque, and this was one of the most uncomfortable hotel experiences I've had. I wouldn't recommend it if you care about cleanliness or a quiet night's sleep.
