SureStay Hotel by Best Western Albuquerque Midtown

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The area is bad, and although they allow pets, staff waited until 1 a.m. to address a dog that had been barking nonstop since 5 p.m. The deposit was another problem. All the paperwork I signed said $150, but at payment I was told it would be $200. When I pointed out the amount on the paperwork, she said it was on the pet form. I checked again and couldn’t find it. The pet fee was $15 per pet, or $30 total, which still only made $180. The in-room paperwork said the pet fee was $10 each, too. The charges were contradictory and made it seem like the location charges whatever it wants. Stay somewhere else.

Good morning. On Thursday, February 27, I made a booking reservation for that same day, planning to leave Friday, February 28. By mistake, it was booked for March 10/11 instead. I had to make a reservation directly at the hotel, stayed in room 206, and paid by credit card. Please cancel the booking reservation without a charge, or offer some other solution. Losing the money would cause us a lot of difficulty, especially since we travel every day. I need an urgent solution. I still haven’t had a response from you. I wrote here through booking and also spoke to someone in person when I left the hotel.

We drove 175 miles to town after my mom booked us a room, and I always check the bed when I arrive. The top blanket was stained, the sheets were worn, and one blanket had a hole. Then I saw what looked like dirt on the sheet. When I tried to brush it away, it moved and crawled off before I could take a picture. I jumped out of bed, grabbed my things, and threw them into the hallway because I didn’t want a bed bug getting on my stuff. The floor was dirty, too. This place is filthy, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It needs to be shut down. We tried to cancel and get our money back, but the desk clerk couldn’t authorize it, so we came back the next morning. The manager disputed what I’d seen in the room. I called booking.com, and they had to check with the hotel. The manager denied the room’s condition, and we didn’t get refunded. I’m complaining about both SURESTAY AND BOOKING.COM. Read reviews from people who’ve stayed there, don’t stay there, and don’t use booking.com. They’re frauds!

The photos online gave a completely wrong impression. Outside there was a strong marijuana smell, and after I checked in I found the whole top floor smelled of it and body odor. It was loud, too, with people running through the halls close to 10 p.m. There was suspicious white powder on the room table. I called the front desk and was told the family with the marijuana would leave in the morning because it was Sunday. They said smoking anywhere on the property was against policy, but also said they couldn’t cancel my reservation because that was against policy. We left for a better hotel and got no refund. Avoid this place.
