I was hoping to book for February, and the place looked so beautiful that I was excited to stay. I reached out through their website to ask whether my dates were available. Kylee explained that the calendar doesn't open for future dates until 60 days or so, and asked about my dates and what I was renting for. For the first couple of days, communication was fine. Then the emails slowed down, so I asked if we could talk by phone. She sent me a number, but over the next three weeks she didn't answer my texts, calls, or follow-up emails. It's been more than a month without a word, so I had to look elsewhere. Really disappointing. Update 12/31: Added a photo of the email thread where the communication stopped.

I found the venue on Airbnb while looking for a place for a vow renewal and a get-together with family and friends. I was upfront from the start about how many people would be staying and that we'd host an intimate vow renewal dinner. Once the owner heard it was an “event,” they added a $1,000 fee for the vow renewal. I wasn't adding any guests, and they weren't adding anything on their end. That seems ludicrous to me. The venue may be gorgeous, but the owners will try their hardest to capitalize on you and your event. I'd look elsewhere.

We booked the property for our wedding, and the process was a breeze, one less stressful thing to handle in the planning. It's a stunning spot for a casual stay or an event. Kylie was wonderful to talk with and got back to us quickly. We're grateful.

UPDATE 11/5 IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: I included our Airbnb conversation, so judge for yourself, but this was subpar customer service. Honestly, it's surprising and disgusting for a wedding venue to respond this way. I asked for some information on Airbnb, and the person we were speaking with, Kylee, was incredibly rude. I don't suggest booking with them.

Kat Bloom made our wedding day feel easy and special. My husband and I got married at the Villa in June, and she was so kind and incredibly accommodating throughout. The venue was beautiful, exactly what I hoped for. If you're looking for a magical wedding spot, reach out to Kat. 10/10.
