Club Wyndham Old Town Alexandria

The rooms are nice, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they handle problems promptly. There’s also a nice exercise room, and the location is great, less than a block from a metro station. One thing to know: this is a timeshare facility, and they’re very persistent about getting you to attend a sales meeting. Be prepared to say no.

Don’t attend the timeshare or vacation club meetings. The woman at the timeshare room’s front desk was extremely rude, both from the start and when we left. They wouldn’t validate our $25 parking ticket, even though they had told us to park there, because we didn’t buy their very expensive vacation club package. They wanted us to decide about spending tens of thousands of dollars in an hour and a half.

My wife and I stayed two nights at Hilton Alexandria Old Town, 1767 King Street, from Thursday, October 2, to the 3rd. We booked through Club Wyndham to celebrate her 61st birthday, but the stay was very disappointing. There was no water in the room, and we were asked to pay $8 for a small bottle. The elevators and room smelled bad, there was no pool or leisure facility, and there was no parking for our larger vehicle. We had to find and pay for public parking a 30-minute walk away, then carry our luggage back from there. We told Wyndham staff, but they offered no solution, different accommodation, or help finding parking, just shrugged. Wyndham then pushed hard for us to buy ownership and seemed upset when we declined. Very poor service. We doubt anyone will respond to this feedback, since nobody reacted when we raised the issues there. Mark and Patricia Charters

The staff were nice, and they had complimentary popcorn, a latte machine, and garage parking on site. We had a nice time, but our room had broken electrical outlets and the iron was missing some plastic. We were in the back of the hotel right next to the metro station, and the trains were loud through the day and night. Since it’s part of our timeshare, we’d come back, but I wouldn’t pay for a room here. I’d look for somewhere farther from the station.
