Fairfield Inn & Suites Alexandria

I was in town for an emergency repair to my Jaguar F-Pace SVR at the Jaguar Land Rover Alexandria Va Dealership, just up the street. The staff here were professional and welcoming, and I’m glad I chose this hotel for the night. My King Suite was very clean and smelled fresh. The linens were clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The complimentary morning breakfast had a decent selection of morning favorites and tasted good. Many thanks for a great overnight stay. I highly recommend it.

The day staff were pleasant and helpful, and our room was clean during the few nights we stayed. The bed was uncomfortable, though. Breakfast was a joke: for all three days there were no eggs or juice and very little else. Staff said the juicer was broken and they were waiting on an egg delivery. Cosco/Walmart are down the road, so they should have sent someone to pick up supplies. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Morning staff were a pleasure, and checkout was very pleasant. During the night, though, the check-in associate kept interrupting instead of hearing what I was trying to explain, then made smart remarks. We’d booked two rooms and found that one TV didn’t work. I went down just to let the hotel know, so they wouldn’t blame us for a problem left by the previous guest. Before I could finish, she told me to adjust something on the back of the TV, which we had already tried and which I was about to explain. She then said our only option was to move rooms, followed by, “I mean, you can’t sleep one night without the TV being on”. I wasn’t asking for compensation or a room change, and didn’t want to create a headache. I only wanted them to know the equipment was broken so the next family or friends assigned to the room wouldn’t have the same issue.

The staff were great, and breakfast was nice. It was good value for the area, with easy access to the metro and downtown. The fitness center could use some work.
