For the rate, being about 10 minutes from DC made this a good fit for our four-night stay, though the hotel was just okay and you need low expectations. It was maybe 90% clean, and management could be hard to understand. There aren’t many restaurants around, but the metro is within walking distance. If you’re in town for just a couple nights, it could work. Breakfast was cereal and donuts.

I found a different kind of bug in the room every day, including spiders and beetles, and there was hair in the bed the first night. The Wi-Fi was horrible, and the place was dirty. It’s the worst motel I’ve stayed in. Wyndham has been gracious and responsive to my complaints about this mess. Do not stay here!

The bathroom was still dirty the day after we checked in, despite the manager promising to handle it. Hair and mildew covered the shower, and it hadn’t been touched when we returned. We complained at check-in, then tried to get our money back, but the manager refused and treated us rudely.

The room looked somewhat clean, but it smelled like it had been fumigated and never aired out. Everything else felt extremely old and worn, down to the box frame held together with duct tape. I used to think the Days Inn just south of here was bad, but next to this place it looks like the Taj Mahal. Travelodge should be ashamed to have this representing the brand. I wouldn’t call it a two-star hotel, and honestly not even one star.

Quaint might appeal to you here, if you can also put up with filth, rundown conditions, and rude people. I’d spend $100 extra to stay somewhere else. One reviewer suggested paying $10 more for a decent place, but I’d pay a lot more than that to avoid this one.
