La Quinta Inn & Suites Alexandria Airport

It's a La Quinta, not a Marriott, and was half the price of the Hampton Inn in the adjacent parking lot. The grounds were clean and looked after. The bed was comfortable, the TV had a good selection, the front desk staff were nice, and the hot shower worked fine. The train tracks are right nearby, and it seemed noisy all night. Breakfast was okay if you're after a bagel, muffin, waffle, or powdered eggs. I had the biscuit and gravy. There's a Cracker Barrel in the same lot and a McDonald's across the street if you want other options. I'd stay again if I'm in the area.

The location worked well for my plans, but the hotel feels old and could use a remodel and fresh paint. The room was meant to have two queen beds, though they felt more like full-size ones, which was disappointing. I also went to the breakfast area for coffee, but there was no creamer. The location is great, but the property needs updates and better amenities to make the stay better.

Check-in staff were friendly, and the room was nice and clean. The only problem was a dead roach on the floor by the work desk. The toilet wouldn't flush it, so I had to reach in and throw it in the trash. Otherwise, everything was great.

My dog and I needed somewhere to sleep for the night while relocating, and we checked in around midnight. The staff were downright friendly. I can't remember the lady's name, but she had a smile that lit up the room and gave my dog lots of pets. The place was very clean, especially for an older property, and I thought the king room was worth what I paid. Breakfast was a little weak, but what do you expect in this economy? I paid with my CashApp card and got the deposit back within a day of checkout. The $25 pet fee seemed reasonable. I felt safe and welcome, and would definitely stay again.
