Quality Inn Allen - Plano East

The hot tub was out of order, though the pool water and pool room were pleasantly warm. I stayed two nights in September. The room was generally clean and had no noticeable air odor, but spots on the top comforter smelled like body odor. Maybe it wasn't washed after every use, or perhaps it was washed and then held against someone's armpit. There was also a BO-smelling spot on the armchair, around where someone might rest an arm. I slipped and fell on a wet lobby floor because there was no warning sign. I got a big bruise and my knee hurt for the rest of the stay, which was a bummer. I suspect someone had just come from the pool and dripped through the lobby. There wasn't a formal way to file an incident report, so I was given the manager's card. I misplaced it for a while, and by now it's been long enough that it doesn't really matter.

We booked four nights but left after two when we saw a cockroach climbing on the wall. A few other things had already bothered us, but the roach was the point where we decided to go. The comforters had a few small stains along the edges, and the water sputtered as if it hadn't been running for a while, so we used bottled water to brush our teeth to be safe. The shower grout and cracks could use repair, though that wasn't a deal breaker. When we checked out, the front desk worker didn't seem surprised and tried to move us to another room, even though we were clear that we wanted to leave.

Let me tell you about the area. Ladies, if you walk around, even to the Target down the street, you may be followed. My husband and I were followed for about a mile toward the hotel and had to call 9 1 1. We're stuck in the room now. My husband is a big guy, but that didn't seem to deter the person, which makes it feel even more dangerous if you're with someone else. Always look behind you. I think the hotel needs security because the area feels awful. The rooms aren't terrible, but sometimes there's an onion and garlic smell, and I don't know why. In case I don't survive, the person was slim, darker-skinned, had a headband over his mouth, skinny joggers, a hoodie, short hair, a slimmer build, and a black backpack with no logo.

That strong air freshener or whatever it was made me nauseous, and the small bed pillows were so soft they felt like nothing was there. I was also disappointed to find the pool and hot tub closed for maintenance. If a hotel advertises those facilities, the booking sites should say when they're unavailable. I wouldn't have stayed if I'd known.
