City Place at Westport

My friend and I reported the theft to police, who spoke with management, and we learned there wasn’t clear footage of the parking lots. The lots are very dark and don’t have proper lighting. Management said security guards patrol the property, but I never saw them before my car was stolen. I was visiting my friend and parked in the community for a few hours. My car was locked and inside the apartment complex, but it was stolen. The staff were helpful and nice during the process, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. Still, be aware that this complex lacks basic security features. If you don’t want to risk being a victim of property crime, don’t live here.

We’ve recommended City Place to friends and family, and our son and his girlfriend have just signed a 14-month lease. We must really love the place to recommend it to our son. We’ve lived here a year and a half and just renewed for another 14 months. The location is a favorite: we can walk to the grocery store, the Plaza, 39th Street, the Southmoreland streetcar stop, and Westport. We use the pet spa to bathe our dog, enjoy the pool, and spend lots of time on our patio, though not this time of year, LOL. Having the option of a private garage is rare, and the extra storage has been both helpful and necessary. Victoria, Marisol, and Grace in the office are the friendliest and most helpful office staff we’ve worked with, including at Commerce Tower downtown and Summit on Quality Hill. James, Brian, Larry, and the rest of maintenance are great too. We’ve never had to wait for repairs or filter changes. There is security patrol, though a car window was smashed during our first week. It was part of a spree that hit several communities. That was a year and a half ago, and we haven’t had trouble since. It’s the city, and these things can happen, though fortunately not often.

City Place has a great vibe, with fun surroundings and spacious living spaces. Marisol and her team work hard to take good care of residents, and the management staff seem to care. Check it out if that’s what you’re looking for.

I’ve toured a lot of apartment communities over the past three weeks, and Marisol gave me the best tour I’ve had.
