Hilton Garden Inn Allentown Airport

The hotel feels dated and some areas need remodeling. The shower had such weak water flow that it took a long time to shower. The pool and hot tub area had empty beer bottles and trash lying around. The fitness room was a letdown: the Peleton bike had no power and absent footsteps, there was no elliptical, the TV was broken with no programming, and there was no water. There wasn’t a breakfast buffet, just ordering from the menu, which takes time, so I didn’t bother. There was only one wait staff member, who seemed relieved I wasn’t eating there. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hilton Garden Inns for work and leisure, and I expected better. I’d recommend booking elsewhere.

Mark Raphun leaves a strong impression as General Manager. His integrity and focus on customers come through in how he leads, with consistency and a genuine effort to do right by every guest. He listens carefully, responds with empathy, and makes people feel valued and respected. Under his leadership, the hotel shows professionalism, trust and excellent service. He’s an outstanding manager.

I used to like staying at Hilton everywhere, but now I’m really disappointed. At check-in, the front desk said breakfast would cost extra, even though my package included it. They only accepted that after checking my reservation. I told the breakfast staff I was from room ### and that breakfast was part of my package. Still, after my stay, my credit card was charged for breakfast. When I called, I had to explain the included breakfast again. They reviewed the reservation and refunded me only after that.

The fast working elevator and the kindness of the helpful, friendly people mattered most to me. I also wanted a clean, comfy bed, working heat and cleanliness, and had those. Some rooms have kinks because they’re older and outdated, but as long as things work, that doesn’t bother me. I stayed over Thanksgiving while visiting family in town. The hotel has rides to the local airport, a nice workout center, a pool and hot tub, and access to order food if you want. There was great holiday spirit, with music and decorations.
