Holiday Inn Allentown I-78 & Rt. 222

The sheets looked wrinkled, like someone had just slept in them, and I found more human hair on the pillowcases when I checked. The bathroom had moldy residue that looked like it had been there since the last shower. I started to think the towels and sheets had just been refolded and the bed remade with the previous guest’s linens. It was revolting. The yogurt at breakfast was over a week expired, which made me wonder what other food and drink I’d eaten was expired. Breakfast cost $12.95 and wasn’t included. This was a complete nightmare during my 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn Allentown–Bethlehem by IHG, January 23-26, 2026. I’d expected basic cleanliness and hospitality from a 3-star IHG property. First I was put in a loud room off the lobby, with bright lights from the main entrance shining in. To get some quiet, I had to change rooms and give up my king bed for two queens. In room 408, the bathroom towels had yellow stains, pubic hair and long strands of hair on them. I tried to call the front desk for fresh linen, but the phone didn’t work. All the extensions rerouted to a generic holiday inn number, so I had to walk downstairs to get help. If you care about cleanliness, comfort or basic hospitality, stay somewhere else. This property should be embarrassed to carry the IHG name.

We had a wonderful family stay. The staff were great, the rooms were clean, and we all enjoyed the pool. We’re looking forward to returning, especially when Downey park opens. It’s almost close enough to walk there.

I stayed one night out of the five I booked and got a sinus infection. The hotel appears to have had water damage that wasn’t properly remediated, and I wouldn’t return unless that had been taken care of. They said they’d charge me $99 for one night but billed me $200. I talked to the front desk at checkout, so why was I charged wrong? The reception seems very nice, but something feels deceiving here. Consider this my second time “reaching out directly.” It sucks.

There are only a few hotels in the area that can accommodate semi trucks, and this is one of them. Make sure you check at check-in whether breakfast is included in your rate. The booking page said free breakfast, but apparently it only applies if it’s set up when you check in. Otherwise, you pay for it.
