Ramada Enid

The Ramada feels like home away from home. I've stayed here on and off for years, and as time goes by it just gets better, like a fine bottle of wine. Some staff have been here more than 20 years. They remember not only your name, but your kids' and grandchildren's names too. Travel has had its ups and downs, but this place has been one of the good things.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, especially the hotel bartender. Check-in was easy and on time, both rooms had working AC, the shower pressure was great, parking was easy, and we were only a 10-minute drive from where we needed to be. They also respected our Do Not Disturb sign. Our keys stopped working halfway through the trip, but the front desk got us sorted right away. The rooms were another story. There were long black hairs everywhere, though none of us have long black hair. Every towel was thin and stained, with some marks easier to see when held up to the light, as in the photo. The toilet pressure was so weak we had to hold the handle down for the whole flush. Our bedding and mattress had several stains, though there were no bed bugs. There was no bathroom fan, so the humidity hung around for hours after a shower. We paid about $60 a night, which is a great price, but it doesn't excuse unsanitary conditions. Fresh towels and bedding would make this a solid three-star hotel, and I'd rather pay $80 for that same room with clean linens. We may stay again since Enid doesn't have many options, and I'll update this review if we do. Hopefully it can earn three stars then.

The TV lineup was the only problem. It was listed as DirecTV with 24 channels, but six didn't work in our room. The hotel itself was clean, the staff were great, and the restaurant and bar were clean too, with good food.

I left after only a few hours. The room felt dirty and badly worn, and it was loud enough that I could hear everything outside. The hot tub was broken, even though I'd picked this place specifically for it. When I went downstairs because I was hungry, the vending machine had expired food. Gross. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else.
