Holiday Inn Express & Suites Allentown West by IHG

The price makes sense once you’ve stayed here. The Wi-Fi was terrible, hot water was inconsistent, and the parking spaces are really only comfortable for a small car. Weekend breakfast doesn’t start until 7 a.m., so it’s no use if you need to get going early. Guests were noisy after the 10 p.m. quiet time, and even after I complained, nothing seemed to be done. You get what you pay for. I wouldn’t make the same choice again.

The room was bright and very spacious, with an accessible shower, a comfortable-height toilet, and a nice vanity. Breakfast had a decent range of options, and the pancakes, though smaller than I wanted, tasted good. The hallway felt dingy, and the lobby’s pillars seemed oddly placed, almost like a municipal building. The hotel is right by a busy road, so it was loud. I’d be fine with one night, but not a longer stay.

This was my second stay here in two weeks, and the staff were lovely. Jaylene was a wonderful host. The rooms were very clean, and there’s a nice pool and gym. Breakfast was good, and they put out cookies in the afternoon; hot tea is available anytime. One tip if you’re a light sleeper: ask for an odd-numbered room. My room on the even-numbered side was very noisy, while the other side of the street was quiet.

Our second-floor suite had plenty of space, with a little dining area, living room, and kitchenette with a big fridge and sink. We could hear some traffic, but still slept well. The food was good overall, and the kitchen staff provided good service. Everyone was attentive and helpful.
