Waters Edge Motel

A USB port on the bedside lamps was handy, and the fridge had a separate freezer compartment, which we really appreciated. There wasn't a desk, but that's why it's called a laptop. It's a clean, very nice privately owned place, and I'd definitely stay again.

Brenda even brought us homemade blueberry zucchini muffins, and we had complimentary kayaks and free wood for the fire pit. The place is right on the beach, cozy and private, and convenient for getting to the parks and attractions nearby. Our room was clean and the service was EXCELLENT. I hadn't expected much from a last minute motel booking at an extremely low rate over labor day weekend, but I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have the usual big hotel amenities, though skipping extras we rarely use elsewhere was worth it for this stay. Great value.

The owners were very nice, and it was easy to walk to restaurants from the nice beach. I'd suggest asking for a room numbered 5 or higher, since those are farther from the road. We had room number 5 and heard no traffic. The big picture window had a lovely lake view. Our King bed was comfortable, the sheets were good, and the bath towels were thick and soft. The room was otherwise clean, though the carpet was stained and probably dirty.

For $65 a night, we had a really comfortable room with a nice bed, table and chairs, big TV, and wifi. The "kitchen" had a stove, an apt size frig, microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups, silverware, and cooking utensils. The place was very clean and the staff were friendly. We rented it for 2 days. I'm guessing those were winter rates, and would love to come in summer. It's beach front.
