The staff were very nice, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. We asked for a room with two queen beds, and they were able to accommodate us at check-in. It was our first time staying here while passing through town. Our large, clean room on the fourth floor had fresh linens and a nice view over the pool and parking lot. It had a mini fridge, large TV, microwave, ice bucket, ironing board, coffee pot, plenty of towels and washcloths, a desk, lots of counter space, and closet shelves. All the lamps had working bulbs. There were plenty of luggage carts, and the elevators worked. Breakfast in the lobby had eggs made to order, other choices, and coffee. You can buy snacks in the lobby, and there’s a restaurant and bar, though we didn’t try them. It was a comfortable stay.

The location worked well for us, with lots of restaurants and a Target within about a five-minute drive. Staff were friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. Our room, 217, wasn’t great, though. The window looked out onto the roof, and a gap around the door let hallway noise in so loudly that people talking sounded like they were in the room. Vacuuming was even worse, and the doors slammed shut, waking me up several nights. I was in the hotel during the day while my boyfriend had the car, and construction noise made it hard to rest. The pool was closed too.

The cook was the one who finally helped us get back into our room, and he was a great guy. The front desk attendant was rude and acted as if he were doing us a favor. We arrived late Friday night and booked room 102 in the app. Check-in took a while because the place seemed understaffed, but there was no problem that night. On Valentine’s Day, after we’d been out all day, our key card stopped working. My husband waited in a long lobby line while the same man who had checked us in worked alone. The attendant insisted we were in room 202, even though all our things were in 102 and he had given us the key for 102 the night before. He argued with my husband and threatened to have him trespassed over the mistake. My kids and I were left waiting in front of other guests, and we felt embarrassed. When the cook came in and asked what was happening, the attendant interrupted my husband while he explained. The cook intervened, and eventually brought us new keys so we could enter our room. Around 11:30 p.m., a female worker woke us to ask our name and how long we’d been there. We told her our reservation ran through the next day, the 15th. Our family Valentine’s getaway was a nightmare, and nobody even apologized. Someone at the hotel made a mistake. If the attendant was right that we’d been assigned 202, why did he give us a key to 102? Would a key for 202 open 102? If so, the keys aren’t secure. I have severe anxiety, and the experience caused major stress and a panic attack. We were treated as if we were stupid and made to look like the problem. My husband often stays at Hilton hotels for work and has never had anything like this happen. I would never book here or recommend it. I’ve seen other one-star reviews, and I’d give negative stars if I could.

The room was spacious, clean, and well lit, with plenty of outlets for my phone, watch, and sound machine. The bathroom was a good size, and the shower was nice. Breakfast was good, and they made my scrambled eggs to order. Khalile Thomas checked me in, and I got the room I’d requested. I’d definitely stay again. Grace S.H.

Ira also helped make my stay enjoyable and is a good addition to the team. Lex, though, was the highlight of staying at this Hilton Garden Inn. She was attentive and made the whole experience phenomenal. I’ll definitely come back as long as Lex is here.
