My best friend and I have been here about two weeks after recently becoming homeless, and the affordable rate has kept us out of a very cold stretch in my car, or worse. It’s been quiet, and the staff have been kind and helpful. The owner even offered to cover the front desk and extend my stay while the desk staff were busy. I’ve known this place since I was a kid, when it was the go-to spot for birthday pool parties. I also worked and lived here in my early twenties, around the time the current owner bought it. He started taking the worst rooms out of service and fixing them up. The hotel had a lot of problems to deal with, then COVID hit, so I’m glad to see it made it through and that work is still happening. I’m excited to see where things go. When it’s all done, I hope my kids can have birthday parties here too.

The front desk staff were very nice, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The building has a lot of neglected maintenance, and the room didn’t match what we thought we were booking from the hotel website photos. There were bugs in plain sight, both dead and alive.

I won’t stay at this Travelodge again. I use a cane, and for the first two nights I was put upstairs, with access by a metal staircase. I found two bedbugs in that room, along with another kind of large bug. They moved me to a ground floor room for the last night, which was better until I saw a cockroach run across the nightstand while I was getting ready to leave in the morning.

The staff were so sweet and nice. I wish every hotel had people like them. But the roaches were a nightmare, and I couldn’t sleep. One tried to crawl on my mouth and in my ear, and I found over 20 in my clothes. The bedbugs made it a painful, regrettable stay too.

The people were nice, the games were fun, and the location was great. The rooms, though, need a lot of work. They were bad, with hair everywhere, and nothing matched. Everything looked like it came from a scratch-and-dent factory. There was way too much fragrance trying to cover the mildew smell.
