Alta Lodge

Our wedding weekend felt easy from start to finish, and our friends and family still talk about the food, the views, and how much fun everyone had. Misti and her team handled the timing, setup, and communication so we could enjoy ourselves. Dinner service was right on time, the ceremony view looked across the Collins side of Alta, and moving from ceremony to reception went smoothly. Misti, the wedding coordinator at Alta Lodge, answered questions quickly and planned each step with a mix of care and precision. Every staff member treated us like family from our first meeting onward. We chose Alta Lodge as soon as we visited. My wife, Bridget, and I love Little Cottonwood Canyon, and the lodge felt rustic, charming, and personal, tucked right into the mountains. Having everyone stay at the Alta Lodge hotel made it a full weekend together. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, we woke up to mountain views and shared breakfast with friends and family, and it felt like our own little world. The food was incredible at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything came out fresh and hot, and guests kept asking who made it. After the reception, we carried on at the Sitzmark Bar, laughing with our guests late into the night. It was relaxed and fun, and we didn’t have to clear out when the reception ended. For a Utah wedding, especially a mountain celebration near Salt Lake City, Alta Lodge has the views, friendly staff, and food that made ours feel special. It could suit an outdoor mountain ceremony or a cozy winter gathering. We’re grateful to the team for such a smooth, memorable weekend. If you want a wedding that feels personal and relaxed, we’d give this place five stars.

I loved being able to unplug here and take in the alpine scenery. It’s a cozy, rustic place with warm hospitality and hearty meals, and the views are stunning. With ski-in/ski-out access, it’s a skier’s dream and a comfortable mountain escape in the heart of Alta.

The staff are amazing every year, and in my opinion the lodge is just right. I’ve been coming to Alta and staying at the Alta lodge for a few years now. It feels like coming home each time.

There’s no other place quite like Alta Lodge. It has a traditional feel in the best sense, while still being stylish, comfortable, peaceful, and quietly elegant. The staff are warm, kind, and unpretentious, with excellent service that never feels showy. I’ve been four times, and after my first visit I already felt part of the family. These days it feels like home. The ski-in/ski-out position puts you right at Alta, with Snowbird easy to reach too. The food is great, and the bar is the coolest anywhere. It’s a happy, friendly place where you can switch off, relax, ski, and enjoy other skiers’ company. There are no TVs in the rooms, which suits that atmosphere perfectly.
