Fairfield Inn & Suites Amarillo Airport

I checked into room 215 at 8 pm, but left at 3 am because my eyes were watering and my throat was irritated. The room seemed dusty, or maybe it was the black mold in the restroom. I don’t know, but I didn’t feel right until I got out. The hotel seems not maintained at all. I asked about the washer and was told it was broken. Don’t be fooled by the name on the building.

Breakfast was good, but I probably won’t come back. The pool was cold, there was no microwave or hair conditioner in my room, and the swollen bathroom door made a lot of noise whenever I opened or closed it.

It was very late and we needed to get checked in quickly. Chrissy, the kind woman working the front desk late at night, had everything handled within 10 minutes. She was the best person I’ve ever worked with at a hotel check-in and a shining example of customer service and hospitality.

The breakfast was fine, and the shower had good hot water, which was nice. The mattress, though, was worn out and uncomfortable. The room floor dipped in the middle compared with the edges, leaving the furniture slanted and the dresser drawers opening on their own from gravity. The night clerk didn’t make me confident she could find enough towels for everyone, though she eventually did. In the morning I asked for a plastic laundry bag. The clerk said he didn’t know where housekeeping kept them and they weren’t in yet, but he didn’t look for one.
