Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Amarillo

A good option for one night, with prices similar to other places nearby. It's just off the highway, and although the rooms are small, they're quite nice. My room and bathroom were clean and well stocked, and the staff were kind and efficient.

The staff were nice, and it's quiet for sleeping, right off i40. But the room itself felt really uncomfortable, like an interrogation room from the 1970s. There was a tinted mirror taking up the whole wall behind the bed, brown and orange plaid polyester curtains, black plastic ashtrays, a tiny TV, and no coffee maker. I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched through that mirror. The indoor pool wasn't heated. Breakfast was continental, with a waffle iron. I just can't figure out why the designers at microtel chose that room style. It was very unnerving.

My room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was really good, too. Since it's right by the highway, getting here was easy, and I had no problems during my stay. I'd definitely recommend it.

The front desk service has been good, and I haven't had any problems staying here so far. Rooms are clean, though dated, and they're very cold when you first check in.
