Tru By Hilton Amarillo West

The rooms are simple and clean, and we didn't feel like we were missing anything during our stay, even with pets allowed. The breakfast is fairly basic, but has what you need to start the day and seems to focus on healthy choices. The lobby has a modern, very clean look with bright colors. The check-in desk is usually near the center, next to several options for buying drinks and snacks. One of the best pet-friendly hotels I've stayed at.

The hotel seems quite new, and everything was clean and working. We liked the bright, cheerful contemporary interior. Breakfast in the lobby was comfortable, and the pancake machine was something we hadn't seen elsewhere. The workout room was better equipped than usual, with weights and cattle bells. We'd never stayed at a Tru before and were curious about it. We enjoyed the stay, but the room was too small for us, and the hotel doesn't have larger rooms. There was no microwave or coffee maker, and the bed was too firm for my hips. Too bad.

The rooms are cool and clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff are super friendly. Blake and Jennifer are awesome. It's dog friendly too. I think I've found my hotel chain. I'll book again tonight in Missouri, and for the whole next trip with my dog.

The cats were badly shaken after we had to change a flat on the interstate, so that late-night stop mattered a lot. The night auditor was kind and made us feel welcome, even bringing out treats and water bowls for them. My father, the two cats and I were moving across the country and needed somewhere on short notice along our I-40 route. It’s hard to find hotels that welcome cats. We’ll stay at TRU next time we travel with our pets.
