Abby's Anaheimer Inn

We were really dissatisfied with the cleanliness, safety, and service. The second room had a broken top latch, just one bath towel, two hand towels, a pair of shampoo and conditioner bottles with one half used, and dirty floors. The first room had a broken door frame, so we didn’t feel safe staying there. At the desk, the man said it was fine because it was next to the office and they’d watch it. We asked for another room; he said they were all reserved for our four-day stay, but after I asked for the manager, he went to the computer and gave us a new room within five minutes. The hotel advertises a 24-hour front desk, but at 9 a.m. the office was locked. Another visitor was waiting outside, too. When it opened, I asked for more towels and the man said a woman would help shortly. She came out of the office, walked into one of the guest rooms, took two hand towels, and handed them to me. I called the hotel later, and the man hung up on me. They deleted my previous review.

The staff said the room hadn’t been touched for two days, and it looked that way. There was a hole in the wall that hadn’t been fixed, the TV didn’t work, and the floor didn’t look swept. Black hairs were in the sink and tub, and on top of the bed as well as tucked into the made bed, so it looked like someone may have slept there without the sheets being changed. The bed cover also had stains I couldn’t identify.

They have 220 rooms but space for maybe 20 cars, and the owners were rude when we asked about parking. For multiple vehicles, they charge $20 per vehicle, which they don’t advertise. The owner wanted us to park in a spot where our vehicle could get damaged. We only asked whether he’d be responsible if we parked where he wanted, but he yelled and insulted us. This place isn’t fancy, and the customer service is awful. I don’t recommend it.

Hand towels weren’t in my room, so you may need to ask at the front desk. The motel is handy to get to, but it’s old and due for an update, and my room was dirty.
