Park Vue Inn

The room was spacious and clean, and the mini fridge with a freezer was especially handy. It kept ice frozen solid. The pillows were really firm, though I still slept great. One catch if you're on the second floor: there's no elevator, so you'll have to lug your suitcases upstairs. It's a terrific value in a fantastic spot for Disneyland adventures. Quiet hours are enforced, and they include a free parking spot. We'll stay here again.

We'd definitely stay again on another Disneyland vacation. Getting to Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure was so convenient, and Downtown Disney was within walking distance. There were lots of restaurants nearby too. The staff were friendly, the rooms were a good size for two adults and two kids, and the beds were comfortable. The walls were pretty soundproof, so we couldn't hear people in the neighboring rooms, a nice change from most Disney hotels we've stayed at.

I prepaid in full and completed the digital registration and signature before arriving at Park Vue Inn. The hotel called at about 12:11 AM, and I returned the call around 12:48 AM to say I was on my way. The employee said she'd “see me soon.” But when I arrived shortly afterward, the office was shut. Security had no key for me and said the hotel had canceled my reservation as a no-show because I supposedly hadn't called or arrived. I had to find and pay for another hotel that night. The next morning I came back and asked if I could leave my bags in my room while waiting to check in, but was told there were no rooms available. About an hour and a half later, I got a text with a link to download the app and open my room with a remote digital key. Later, I was told they couldn't issue a remote key the night before because they needed to check my ID in person. But when I got the remote key the next morning, nobody checked my ID. To Park Vue Inn's credit, they refunded the missed night and discounted the next one, which I appreciated. The whole mess seemed to come from poor communication and an inconsistent after-hours check-in process. If you're arriving late, I'd strongly recommend confirming exactly how you'll check in before you get there.

The only big plus was the location, less than a five-minute walk to Disneyland, which was great with small kids. For what we paid, the hotel was a huge disappointment and the biggest regret of our vacation so far. Cleanliness was unacceptable. A towel seemed to have blood stains from a previous guest, and disinfectant wipes kept coming up dirty after I wiped the floors. I wasn't comfortable walking around barefoot. The shower has only a partial glass wall, with the showerhead aimed at the opening, so water flooded the bathroom floor. After a long drive, we had to use all the towels to clean it up. The TV's “built-in casting” wouldn't connect to our devices, and the in-room WiFi help number didn't connect us to anyone.
