Arctic Adventure Hostel

A cute little place with thoughtful room amenities that made things convenient. I stayed in February when I didn’t have friends to stay with. The bathroom was very clean and well kept, though I’d suggest replacing the liner around the tub. I didn’t try the kitchen or workout areas, but they looked great.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We did at least have a clean bed, a door that locked, a stocked kitchen, quiet neighbors, and a bathroom that was somewhat clean. But the price should have been much lower, several areas weren’t clean, and our towels didn’t arrive until two days after we checked in. The neighborhood isn’t ideal either.

Having everyone take off their shoes was my favorite part. It gave the place a homey feeling that I really appreciated. The owner was friendly and enjoyable to talk with, and took time to make sure my needs were met. It’s cozy and welcoming, with opportunities to meet interesting travelers from all over the world. I’d return anytime.

Last year I stayed here and had a great time, and the parking lot was full. This year it was only half full, and I soon saw why: the manager is a big jerk. He smells strongly of cigarettes, rudely bosses people around, and even threatened to sue me. He still doesn’t understand that customers are why he has a job. Get rid of him and the place could be great again.
