Econo Lodge Andalusia

We travel a lot for work and run our own business, so getting a good rate matters. We bring our 5 pound dog, and the owner and his wife have been friendly and accommodating. You can tell they take pride in the place. Rooms are clean and roomy, and the housekeeper who did ours was phenomenal, cleaning every inch. The pool feels like an oasis after a long workday. The hotel is tucked behind a restaurant, which helps block the highway noise. We love this place enough that it’s the only one we stay at in Andalusia.

Everything was so clean, and I loved that there was no carpet. The staff were super friendly, too. Cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at, let alone Econo Lodge.

We left Friday night and stayed at the wedding venue with my sister because my daughter has asthma and the smoke in the room was so strong it took our breath away. I’d booked Friday and Saturday for my little sister’s wedding and checked in after rehearsal. My husband went to ask about switching rooms, but the office said we’d booked a smoking room and no other room was available. That was my mistake, but there were ashes all over the bed. When I complained, the manager yelled that I’d booked the smoking room. I pointed for him to get out, and he yelled at us to leave the room I’d paid for. He later said he’d try to move us to a non-smoking room for Saturday. After the wedding on Saturday, my husband went back to check that we hadn’t left anything and to see about another room. When he used the key card on OUR room, a very large tattooed man and several friends opened the door, and marijuana smoke came out. My husband went to the office to ask why someone was in our room, and words were exchanged. I contacted Expedia about a refund. They contacted management, who refused. Expedia was very nice, and it wasn’t their fault. They removed the hotel from their website so this wouldn’t happen to another customer. The room was paid for until 10am Sunday morning. I’ve contacted a lawyer to see what my options are. This is unacceptable, and I’m not done.

The little pool area is an oasis, with big yucca and canna lilies around the property and a nice break from highway noise. The rooms are spacious, the bedding is new, everything was super clean, and there’s a microwave and fridge. Bathroom mirrors are full-size, though the lighting could be better for the girls. There were only a few other families in our block, and it felt very safe. I travel for work and booked multiple rooms for an employee on my first trip to Andalusia. I was weighing higher priced places against cheaper ones, and took a chance after reading decent reviews. The owner greeted me right away, was super friendly, and clearly proud of the business. He said he makes sure everything is super clean. I don’t do breakfast, but it looked like a basic waffles, cereal, and Danish setup, enough for a family to save a ton of money. I got no incentive for this review, and booked on PL. As a small business owner, I want to support other owners who take pride in their work. He said to call directly for the best price and to save them the 15% paid to online booking agencies. Great economy hotel, quiet, clean, and super friendly. Highly recommend.
