Hilton Garden Inn Ann Arbor

The pool, laundry, and fitness areas were working and seemed well cared for, and parking was free. There are plenty of restaurants and cute shops about a 12-minute drive north, nearer the Hilton Graduate location. Most things you need are a short drive away. The small snack and merchandise shop isn't very useful, though there's a CVS a short drive away for forgotten items. The rooms were a reasonable size, but things felt dated and worn. The bed was comfortable, even with pillows of two different lengths. There were strong smells that came and went around the hotel: Lysol, a faint stale cigarette smell in the linens, and a bile-like smell in the lobby. Those areas had been cleaned, but the odors lingered. We expected this spot to be quieter, but there was noise at night and in the morning from kids and frustrated parents. The hallways carry every sound, and housekeeping knocked loudly at 8:30 a.m. each morning, waking me despite my do-not-disturb sign. The employees were all helpful, but in an efficient, robotic way rather than a warm one. As of December 2025, common-area renovations were underway. Breakfast looked bland for what they charged. If quiet is important, try the Hilton by the storage facility. For a walkable Ann Arbor stay, splurge on The Graduate near the Michigan University campus.

The staff at the Hilton Garden really made an effort to make our family dinner enjoyable. All three of the rib-eye steaks our group ordered came out very well done. We told the waiter when he asked how things were, and he brought the manager over. The manager insisted on having three more cooked properly. The replacements were perfect, and he treated everyone to dessert as well. A+ service, and I really appreciate the care they showed.

Another really nice stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the pool area and water are always so cold. It's set up for kids, so they should warm it up.

The lobby gave our family a good place to spend time together and watch football, and the indoor pool is great for kids. The gym has everything you need, including a Peloton. Our rooms have always been clean, the service is superb, and the amenities are lovely. This is the only hotel my family uses when they visit. A bad GI bug meant our house wasn't safe for hosting Thanksgiving, but Hilton Garden Inn came through with a place for us to stay and gather. Isaiah at the front desk helped with everything, and I really appreciated his support. We'll keep coming back!
