Larkspur Landing Ann Arbor

We keep coming back for medical trips, and the location is a big reason: right off North Campus, just off US-23, and only a few miles from University Hospital with little traffic. The hotel also works with U of M to accommodate out-of-town patients, which has helped us a lot. Breakfast has what you’d expect from a complimentary hotel spread, including juice, coffee, oatmeal, cereals, muffins and bagels, toast, waffles with toppings, and daily hot food like eggs, breakfast meat, and potatoes. The gym is small but good for getting some movement in. The pool has been closed for maintenance for a few months, though the hotel gives guests access to a larger local gym. The pool area looks lovely, and I hope it reopens soon. Staff have been exceptional every time we’ve interacted with them: friendly, helpful, and accommodating. At check-in, the welcome bag with two bottles of water and a snack is a small touch we look forward to, especially after a long drive. We’ve stayed in several rooms, and while they’re comfortable, modern, and have the usual amenities, some maintenance issues repeat. Blinds have been broken in the same places, there’s been a cracked tile in front of the toilet, tubs haven’t held water well, and mood lighting worked in only one room. The rooms could use some upkeep, though they don’t feel dated. We had one room that wasn’t clean, apparently due to an oversight, and staff handled it quickly and professionally by moving us to a nearby room with no hassle. The parking lot has a few rough patches, but it’s manageable once you know where to avoid parking. We’ll keep staying here and look forward to seeing the property continue to improve.

The room had a classy feel, with furniture, fixtures, and bathrooms that looked new or recently renovated. It was fairly close to campus and came with a microwave, mini fridge, sofa, and a small desk. The main desk looked modern and fit the room well. All of this came at a great price. We’re mainly here to stay overnight, so I can’t say much about the extra amenities. They do have continental breakfast with a nice sitting area, modern elevators, and pretty good service with a smooth front desk. We also got a welcome bag with two water bottles, chips, and packaged nuts. We’re impressed and will come back next time we need a hotel here.

The location is excellent, tucked on Green rd. parallel to Plymouth where it meets 23. Markets, restaurants, and even a pharmacy are a little over a football field’s walk away. Plymouth Park & Ride and several bus stops surround the block, making it easy to get to attractions and medical facilities. The continental breakfast is ready at the Larkspur. Some rooms need attention, but the front desk works with guests to address their needs and help them feel comfortable. Renovations have been underway, and I’ve been impressed with the progress. I gave this place five stars for the service. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. If you think the people make the place, there’s nowhere better to stay in the area. Unless you’re looking for room service and valet parking, just stay here.

I picked this place for two nights during the latest snowstorm because it’s close to work and the price was hard to beat. The bed was really comfortable, the room was spotless, and the service was great. When something came up with my room on the second night, they moved me to a better one without any hassle. I’ll stay here again.
