Courtyard Appleton Riverfront

The food was the highlight of my visit to the Courtyard Riverfront. I had the avocado chicken sandwich, which was excellent and nicely balanced, and the hot wings were cooked just right with great flavor. They were a little small, but still satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was fresh and flavorful too. A solid meal overall, and I’d come back.

I’d still recommend this place to anyone staying in central Appleton. It’s in a scenic spot, and the rooms were quiet, comfortable, and very clean. The public areas are nice too, though parts of the lobby and fitness center were under renovation during our March 2026 visit. The bathroom felt dated despite the property being built in 2017. The toilet was very low, and I’d have preferred a walk-in shower to the tub/shower combination. The balconies were odd: I didn’t like the wood and metal construction or how completely open they were to each other. There was no furniture to sit on and enjoy the view, and the sliding screen door was really hard to open and close. I wonder if they put chairs out there in summer.

The patio was a lovely place to sit and visit my friend, with a firepit going in the evening. He stayed one night while in town and enjoyed it. He also said the breakfast he ordered the next morning was one of the best hotel breakfasts he’d had.

The view was really great, and the property itself is beautiful, though it’s a bit out of the way. The hotel was nice, but the guy at the front desk came across a little snarky, so it wasn’t the best first impression.
