The sheets seemed clean, and the shower had good pressure. That’s about all I can say in the hotel’s favor. The breakfast was poor, and we suspected the coffee had been sitting out for days. Staff were often missing from the front desk, and nobody answered the number on the sign they left. We’d booked two rooms for three nights. We had to stay two nights because of family commitments, but left a night early because we couldn’t face another night there. They couldn’t offer any kind of refund. I’d stayed here several times over the years and it had always been fine, but it’s really gone downhill. This was one of my worst hotel stays. Both rooms were poorly cleaned, with dirty tables and sticky floors. There were big gaps under the outside doors, a shattered peephole, damaged and dirty furniture, and dead insects. In one room, drain flies were actively flying around. The bathrooms had mold and mildew, and the toilets barely flushed and clogged easily.

We’re a baseball team of 15 and 16-year-old boys, and usually need 18 to 22 rooms. These people were amazing. The rooms were clean, breakfast was fresh, and what stood out most was the staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

The staff were exceptional, but they were overwhelmed because the housekeepers kept quitting. I’ve been here just under two weeks, and my room has only been serviced maybe twice. After work every evening, I’ve had to track down a housekeeper and ask for clean towels. I also travel with a registered service dog who’s perfectly trained and obedient. The owner came up to me and said she was allergic to dogs and scared of them, then asked me to find somewhere else to stay. I told her I’m allergic to dogs too, which is why I have a standard pooble. The hotel website clearly says it’s pet friendly. I said I wasn’t going to find other accommodation, and that she’d have to call the police if she wanted me out. Like most evenings, I went looking for fresh towels again and ran into the owner. She said she had cleaned my room that day and asked why I needed more towels. I told her to check the room and say it had been cleaned that day. She apologized and said she’d have it cleaned tomorrow. She’d also claimed my room was serviced daily, though it wasn’t. I strongly recommend not staying here. There are cockroaches and rats, too. I killed a rat in my room and bought a rat trap at Tractor Supply to catch any other unwanted roommates.

I’m still here in a one-bedroom on the ground floor. After knee surgery, having a bottom-floor room mattered to me. There’s no pool, but I needed rest more than a pool, and it’s been quiet. I’ve slept well both nights in a clean, comfortable bed, with clean towels and more supplied each night. The same sweet lady I paid also cleaned my room both nights. I was here because of a family emergency and stayed two nights in the same room. I was so tired I couldn’t drive another hour. I had a good bath or shower, and liked having the choice of either. There’s cable TV, though I mostly needed to sleep. The family-run business is right behind McDonalds, so I suggest getting dinner first. You could stay here a night or even a week. I don’t usually highly recommend places in my reviews, but I do recommend this hotel. It’s clean.

There’s a big gap under the front door even when it’s locked and bolted. The bed felt like upholstered concrete, and the room smelled like an ashtray. I will not be back, and wouldn’t stay here again at gunpoint. I called the listed number and pressed the front desk option, but nobody answered. The reservation line told me I had a non-smoking room on the first floor. At the hotel, I was told I could either take a smoking room on the first floor or a room upstairs. When I explained what the reservation agent had said, they told me I should’ve called the hotel directly. I lost it and showed her the calls on my phone. She just shrugged and said, “Sorry.”
