Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Aransas Pass/Corpus Christi

The room needed attention in several places. The microwave was dirty, the mirror had black spots across it and around the corners, and the wall between the toilet and shower was black. The carpeted floor throughout the room felt sticky. The toilet handle was broken, and flushing made a loud, obnoxious noise while the water kept running. We were given just one towel. When I called the front desk for more, they told me to come get them myself. The person who checked us in wasn't pleasant, didn't greet or smile, and didn't even look at me. The pool lights were broken when we went in the evening, and the hot tub didn't work. Checkout was just as bad as check-in.

The bed was comfortable, but that's about the only positive. This motel needs updating throughout. There was a moldy smell in the room, the toilet kept running, and we only got two very small bath towels.

They'll turn off the air conditioner while you're out, but they won't make the bed or clean the room. On extended stays, housekeeping doesn't change the bedding or towels, empty the trash, or put a trash bag in the bin. It was frustrating to come back from work and find the old towels still there, then have to ask the front desk for towels and trash bags. The computer desk and printer weren't working.

The sink in the room was clogged, and the queen room we booked actually had a full bed. The night clerk wasn't at check-in, so we waited about 30 minutes. When he finally came out, he said he'd been in the restroom. I wouldn't stay here again.
