The staff were friendly, the bar was nice, and they had activities set out for people. And, lol, it doesn't smell like dogs. The room carpet looked pretty dirty, though, and there was a drop of someone else's blood on our comforter.

The hallways are weirdly dark, and there are only four coat hangers on a 24-inch rod. The mattress sits on a slick formica platform and slides toward the floor if you try to watch TV propped against the headboard. Then you have to get up, pull your pillows out of the gap, and shove the mattress back. Really dumb design.

My family and I had to breathe in marijuana smoke all night at this non-smoking hotel. It was so strong that it seemed like someone was smoking in our room. We asked to change rooms, but they were fully booked, so we had to put up with it with our two small children. As a nonsmoker, I'm very disappointed, and I didn't feel that anyone took it seriously. Our clothes are probably going to smell of marijuana. Maybe I should send the dry-cleaning bill to ALOFT! I can't wait to leave in the morning and clear our lungs. I wouldn't recommend this place to nonsmokers. The people in charge should remind all guests that it's a non-smoking establishment and explain the legal consequences of smoking there. I'll never book this hotel again.

I usually like Aloft hotels, and this one was nice with a dark theme I liked. There were a few signs of age, like rough carpet and fixtures, but nothing too bad. The cleaning staff were the problem. We were on the second floor, and at 9:30 in the morning they were yelling down the hall, talking loudly, and playing music. A bit of noise around 11 or noon near checkout would make more sense. People may be staying several days or trying to sleep in, and I was trying to take work meetings. I had to speak over the staff noise. I also had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but they knocked anyway.
