Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie

The rooms were great, and the pool was very clean. I was surprised by how new and up to date everything in the rooms seemed. The location struck us as strange, though we aren't familiar with the area. Several restaurants are just a 1-2 block walk away.

We got a very good deal online, and since the hotel wasn't fully booked, the staff upgraded our room for free when we arrived. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. The heated indoor pool was relaxing, and breakfast was fairly adequate, with make your own waffles. We had a great one-night stay and plan to come back when we're in the area later in the year.

For a budget friendly outing, I was pleased and would stay here again. The room was clean, and the heat worked, though not as well as I think it should have. The furniture could have been better quality, but this is a Days Inn and it matched my expectations. We didn't pay for a five-star hotel. My son's XC team stayed here for the NXR northeast regionals. There were closer places, but this location's price and flexibility made it ideal.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I was 100% completely satisfied with them. The pool and breakfast were good too. What disappointed me was the cost of the smokers room, which didn't feel like it matched the room we got. For that price I expected it to be updated. The bathroom's shower head struggled to provide pressure, and the curtain was ripped at the top. The bathroom's size and cleanliness weren't the problem. I'd suggest updating the beds and a.c. unit and making some general small touch's.
