Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas-Arlington-South

Daniel wouldn't waive the $100 cancellation fee even though the weather in VT was below zero and I canceled before arrival, with enough notice. I won't recommend the Hampton Inn -Dallas/Arlington. This looks like poor management and business practice, and may explain the other negative reviews. It feels like a pure money grab. I'm canceling my Hilton Honors membership, too.

Everyone was friendly and ready to help, from reception and housekeeping to the engineers. The staff were courteous and accommodating, and both the rooms and the facility were clean and well maintained.

The staff has been attentive and professional, with great service all around. Rokia, whose spelling I didn't check, was especially helpful getting us set up.

There were large brown stains on the bedspread, which was horrifying and unacceptable. The room also had a strong unpleasant smell, as did the hallways. The shower doors stuck, and the water never got hot. Housekeeping only came every other day, something no one told me at check-in, and my room wasn't serviced when I expected it. Breakfast was poor: cold eggs and oatmeal, flimsy pancakes, and utensils so cheap they broke several times. Because of the distress and lack of cleanliness, I was told the first night would be complimentary. When I checked out, I saw no adjustment; staff admitted it was their mistake, but never corrected it. This stay fell far below Hampton Inn standards. I absolutely do not recommend it.
