The restored barn restaurant was beautiful, and we had dinner there a couple of times. The meals were a real pleasure. Hill Farm is also run so well, especially thanks to Joanne, Abby and Maria, who were warm, gracious, and clearly working hard to look after everyone. Our room was spotless and nicely equipped, and the shared spaces felt cozy. Breakfast was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We’d been meaning to try the inn for a while, and we’re glad we finally did. A really lovely visit.

We’ve been visiting Vermont for three years as a group of outdoor lovers from New York and New Jersey, and this was easily our best trip. We’d read the reviews before coming, and they proved right: Hill Farm Inn went beyond what we expected. The staff were attentive and so friendly, without hovering. We ate at the restaurant on two of our three nights, and both dinners were excellent, with generous portions. The breakfast was just as good. The rooms felt pristine and comfortable, with thoughtful details everywhere. It’s a gorgeous mountain retreat, rustic and warm while still feeling modern and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to returning later this year.

We spent three nights with five other couples in the River House, and it worked beautifully for our long weekend. There were six updated, comfortable bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, plus plenty of shared space for the group. From our room, we stepped onto the second-floor porch and looked out over the pond and fields. It was peaceful, just the kind of Vermont setting we wanted. We also had a catered dinner in the farmhouse one evening, and it felt personal, warm, and delicious. The team took great care of us throughout. Hill Farm is close to Manchester’s shops and restaurants, hiking, and fly fishing. The mountain scenery had a Napa feel, with rivers and trees that made it even better. A great choice for couples or a group.

We spent a lovely evening by the fire in the big living room, playing games and reading after the staff got it roaring for us. The alpacas were another highlight the next morning. They were adorable and friendly, and staff brought us apples to feed them. We also wandered along the beautiful, winding river walk. After coming in from a misty, cold evening, our room felt warm and cozy, and the staff made us feel welcome. Dinner at the restaurant down the hill was delicious and very local. Breakfast was generous, especially those freshly baked scones. We had such a good time that we’re already planning another visit.

Hill Farm is a beautiful property with lovely rooms, tasty breakfast, and excellent service. It’s a class act, and I’d recommend it. Just a small thing for the owners: music from the living room and bar carries straight up to the second-floor rooms. I had to go downstairs during the night to switch it off.
